- Giulio Giovanella began sailing as a child when he was signed up for an optimist course at the age of eight. He started racing on Optimist, Equipe and 420 and then he specialized in the bowman role. In his sailing career he has had success in the IMS, Mumm 30 and Farr 40 classes. In particular he remembers the 2002 Nations Cup, 2 Italian Match Race titles (U20 and U25), a second place finish at the IMS Worlds in 2004 and a first place at the Giro d’Italia 2007. He has been with Mascalzone Latino-Capitalia Team during the 32nd Ameica’s Cup in Valencia as mid-bow and was also in charge of the Sail vision. He has racing on RC 44 on Hiroshi in quality of bowman and boat captain in 2008.He is sailing now with Luna Rossa in quality of mid-bow.
